India’s First Pod Hotel Opens In Mumbai: Gives You A Feel Of Paradise: A perfect saying; “Necessity is the mother of invention.” This may seem like the most obvious way of starting an article but when you see what we are seeing, you will know that it makes sense.
The company UrbanPod has opened India’s first pod hotel in Mumbai and it’s absolutely perfect for everyone, who is big on technology and efficiency (even see science-fiction or sci-fi accessories).
The prime thing to be happy and notice is that: “this hotel costs one-third of what you’d pay in other hotels.”
Located in Andheri’s SEEPEZ region at Opus Park, the hotel includes 140 pods, both of which are single and double occupancy.
In two different categories, these pods are available i.e. only women and general.
In more detail, there are two sections of classic and private pods. The classic pods include ‘men-only pods’ and a complete set of pods just for women.
For the couples traveling in Mumbai, there’s a ‘suite pod.’
This lavish pod hotel has basic services too!!
Each pod has the following facilities:

2. Air-conditioning
3. Complimentary Wi-Fi
4. Television
5. Power socket with 2 USB ports
6. Dresser with wall mirror
7. Air purifier
8. Personal locker with secure key card access
9. Smoke detector and fire extinguisher
10. Hangers
11. Sliding door with locking facility
12. Mood lightening
They don’t have the capacity to accommodate more than two people but have every single facility that one could ask or wish for!
As you can see the obvious less space, the guests are not allowed to take the luggage inside and instead, they have to keep it in the locker which can only be opened with an electronic key.
There are common bathrooms for people to use including a café which serves food.

When it comes to pricing, they range between ₹ 1800 to ₹ 3200 per night.

UrbanPod is the unique vision of Hiren Gandhi and Shalabh Mittal, the two young businessmen who desired to imitate their pod-hotel experience from Singapore.
From there, they brought a companion in Berlin Lee with some experience running pod hotels, and architectural firm Formwerkz for the design.
The Mumbai based UrbanPod hotel is 4.3km from city’s airport Terminal 2 and approx. 6km from the domestic-only Terminal 1.
